ICT

Pensby High School for Girls

ICT (Information and Communication Technology). This is under the direction of the Coordinator of Information Technology. The school is well equipped for pupils to gain experience with computing and new technologies. It is our aim to make the equipment available for use in all subject areas, encouraging the use of computers as a tool wherever they are useful. To make this easier the whole school is linked by a computer network. This links a large number of computers which allows pupils to use equipment and software which they will encounter in the world of work.

Facilities such as scanners, laser printers, interactive white boards and Internet links are available and a number of Multimedia computers are available in the library using a wide variety of CD-ROM's. The Science Faculty use a number of computers for data logging work and CAD Cam is used in Technology. It is our intention that all pupils gain basic skills in common computer applications as well as making available more advanced courses in the upper school for those who wish to extend their knowledge.
