Lunchtime Arrangements

Pensby High School for Girls

Virtually all of our pupils have a meal in school, either a school snack which they buy daily, or a packed lunch which they bring themselves.

In either of the above cases:

  • Pupils must remain within the school grounds and are not to leave without permission from the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher
  • Packed lunches must be eaten in designated areas and nowhere else
  • Pupils must co-operate fully with lunchtime supervisors
  • Only years 11 to 13 are allowed to go to the nearby shop at lunchtime

We consider these conditions to be essential to the safety and welfare of the pupils. Pupils who go out of school for lunch become their parents' responsibility.

Dinner arrangements are made on a termly basis and except in an emergency, when pupils may change from their normal arrangements by permission of the Headteacher or a Deputy Headteacher, we cannot allow a permanent change in dinner arrangements unless we have a letter from parents requesting it.

The use of facilities during inclement weather is dependent on good behaviour.

The designated areas for eating packed lunches are:

  • Outside under the canopy
  • In the far dining room classroom
  • On the benches in the playground
