Ten year 9 pupils - Beth Knight, Lucie Wright, Molly Higginson, Lydia Dupon, Diane Griffiths, Lucy Churchill, Amanda Parry, Katherine Horton-Smith, Grace Taylor and Olivia Seller took part in the North West Regional finals of a Business Enterprise competition organised by the Lionheart Challenge Company. The girls travelled to the Devonshire House Hotel and Conference Centre in Liverpool to compete against 34 other year 10 teams!
Their brief was to .....'Conceptulalise, Design and Create a Product or Device which will become a Major Aid to Fire Prevention in the UK.......'
They had four hours in which to decide upon their idea, research the market, design it, price it and work out break even point and potential sales and profits as well as market the product to a team of 'business judges'. At the end of this they then had to do a presentation about their product to everyone present. Throughout the day they were judged on their idea, organisation, teamwork and presentation skills as well as their research and costing of it.
There were prizes awarded for each of the above as well as the prize for regional overall winners.
Pensby Girls WON the REGIONAL WINNERS!
They will now go through to the National finals on Monday 13th July where they will be presented with another challenge during the day but will not do their presentation until the evening. In the evening they will be taken in their ball gowns to St Georges' Hall in Liverpool to a red carpet reception where they will have a dinner and then present their ideas to a panel of dignitaries who will then judge and decide upon the final winners!
GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!
