The Pastoral System

Pensby High School for Girls

The staff are organised into year teams to assume day-to-day care of the girls, to help them through any difficulties they may encounter, and deal with any problems that may arise. The teams consist of a Head of Year and a group of Form Teachers who have daily contact with the girls in their form. These teams are supported and co-ordinated by the Assistant and Deputy Headteachers with responsibility for pastoral care.

The emphasis is on rewarding achievement, but disciplinary matters are also dealt with through this system. Every term a review of each girl's progress in all subjects is carried out and this enables support to be given to girls who require it.
