Religious Education is taught throughout the school and follows the Wirral Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. A major focus of the course is study about Christianity. This assists pupils in their understanding of elements of the culture in which they live and helps them in a variety of other curriculum areas. A study of other major world religions is also undertaken in order to raise awareness and understanding of the pluralistic society in which we live and the issues and viewpoints of fellow humans. There are opportunities for pupils to reflect on the religious and spiritual dimension of life. The contribution of religion to life, history, literature and art is considered.
Most pupils follow a short course of Religious Studies to GCSE level in Years 10 and 11.
In line with legal requirements, it is possible for parents to withdraw their child from religious education lessons. This matter should be discussed with the Head Teacher
